The Ambassador of Egypt to Ghana, Wael Fathy Ahmed, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations and expanding trade and investment cooperation between Ghana and Egypt.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, focused on enhancing collaboration in technical training, poultry production, animal feed manufacturing and other potential joint ventures aimed at promoting economic growth in both countries.

During the discussions, Ambassador Ahmed reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Ghana by sharing expertise and exploring investment opportunities in agriculture and other key sectors of the economy.
He said stronger partnerships would help create jobs, enhance skills development and increase trade between the two countries.
In response, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare stressed the need for Ghana and Egypt to formalise their trade relations through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate closer economic cooperation and create new opportunities for businesses.
The Minister also urged both countries to take advantage of opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to boost intra-African trade, investment and industrial development.
She noted that Ghana is well-positioned for stronger collaboration following the government’s approval of strategic policies, including the Textile and Garment Policy, the Pharmaceutical Policy and the Automotive Policy.
According to the Minister, the Ministry’s Agribusiness Directorate is committed to promoting value addition while supporting the production and sustainable supply of raw materials needed to strengthen local industries.
