The Ghana Air Force has provided airlift support for the rotation of personnel serving under the ECOWAS Military Mission in The Gambia (ECOMIG).
The operation involved transporting ECOMIG Ghana Company (GHANCOY) 10 to the mission area, while personnel of GHANCOY 9 are expected to return to Ghana after completing a one-year operational tour in The Gambia.

At a farewell parade held for GHANCOY 10 at Air Force Base Accra, Deputy Director General of Joint Operations, Colonel Ernest Nyuur, urged personnel to maintain professionalism and alertness while adhering to mission guidelines and procedures throughout the deployment.
He also encouraged the troops to carry out their responsibilities with discipline, integrity and professionalism while upholding the image of the Ghana Armed Forces in the mission area.
The Ghana Air Force said it continues to support peacekeeping operations while contributing to national security and development objectives.
