Trade Ministry invites public comments on proposed DSM Firmenich acquisition

The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has invited public comments on a proposed acquisition involving the Animal Nutrition and Health business of DSM Firmenich AG by CVC Capital Partners.

According to the Ministry, acting as Ghana’s National Focal Point for ECOWAS competition matters, the ECOWAS Regional Competition Authority has received a merger notification under which CVC, through Speciality Bidco B.V. and Speciality and Essential Bidco B.V., intends to acquire sole control of the Animal Nutrition and Health business of DSM Firmenich AG.

The proposed transaction would give the acquiring entities full share capital and voting rights in the target businesses, allowing them to exercise decisive control over operations and strategic direction.

The Animal Nutrition and Health business includes operations in premixes, performance solutions, vitamins, carotenoids, aroma ingredients and precision services.

The Ministry said Ghana has been identified by ERCA as a concerned ECOWAS member state in relation to the transaction and is therefore seeking comments from businesses, suppliers, customers, workers’ groups, consumer associations, civil society organisations and the public.

Interested parties have been asked to submit written comments supported by documentation, data or analysis to MOTAI or ERCA by 13th June 2026.

The Ministry noted that the notice is intended solely to solicit public comments and does not constitute approval or endorsement of the proposed transaction.
