Former Ghana head coach Otto Addo has been named to FIFA‘s Technical Study Group (TSG) for the upcoming FIFA World Cup tournament.
Addo, who led Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, will take on a new role involving the technical analysis and evaluation of matches during the competition.

The FIFA Technical Study Group analyses every match at the tournament, focusing on tactics, team structures, transitions, pressing systems, set-pieces and overall performance trends. The group also studies developments in modern football and provides technical insights for the future development of the game.
The TSG is additionally responsible for selecting major individual awards at the tournament, including the Golden Ball, Golden Boot, Golden Glove and Best Young Player awards.
Addo’s appointment is seen as recognition of his growing reputation in international football. The former Borussia Dortmund talent coach has earned praise for his tactical approach and player development work in both club and international football.
His inclusion on the FIFA panel places him among football experts tasked with evaluating performances at the highest level of the game.
The appointment also marks continued Ghanaian representation in global football discussions beyond the coaching bench.
