During the visit, Dr Ashiamah pledged to adopt the Ankaful Prison Learning Centre as his personal project to support improvements in educational infrastructure for inmate learners.
The Central Regional Prisons Commander, Deputy Director of Prisons Joseph Asabre, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed his readiness to collaborate with the agency to transform the facility into a model prison learning centre.
He appealed for support for the completion of the second phase of the prison project, which includes the construction of a school facility, and called for the inclusion of the prison school in the National School Feeding Programme.
The Complementary Education Agency donated exercise books, white marker boards, markers, pens, pencils, Pepsodent, toothbrushes, branded T-shirts for school uniforms and a bag of gari.
The delegation also toured an exhibition of detergents produced by inmate learners as part of their vocational training, with Dr Ashiamah purchasing some of the products in support of the initiative.
