Mr. Daniel Acquah emerged as the overall best farmer.

In the recent 39th Farmers' Day celebration held at Nyanfeku Ekroful in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District of the , Mr. Daniel Acquah emerged as the overall best farmer.

The 44-year-old farmer was honored with a selection of prizes, including a fridge, wheelbarrow, wellington boots, cutlass, and various other farm inputs.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Acquah acknowledged the significance of the award, thanking both God and the Assembly for the recognition.

He pledged to share his acquired knowledge and experience with the younger generation.

The first runner-up was Mr. Yaw Ainoo, followed by Mr. Christian K. Donkor as the second runner-up.

In total, nine farmers and fishermen were recognized for their outstanding contributions.

The list of awardees includes Mr. Emmanuel Nii Boi Mensah as the best crop farmer, Mr. Isaac Ansah Boafo as the best livestock farmer, Mr. Bernard Badu Aggrey as the best physically challenged farmer, Mr. Isaac Otoo as the best marine fisherman, Mrs. Efua Amoaba as the best fish processor, and Mr. Derrick Okyere as the best agriculture worker.

Mr. Willyevans Obiri-Awuah, the District Chief Executive of AAK, lauded the farmers and fishermen for their hard work and dedication to providing essential food for both the district and the nation.

He encouraged them to embrace innovative and modern methods, emphasizing the need for continuous education by Agric Extension Officers to enhance farm productivity.

Mrs. Faustina Agyarko, District Agric Officer, also commended the farmers for their significant contributions to the national economy, highlighting the importance of viewing as a lucrative venture.
