Dr Mustapha Hamid, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the (NPA), has stated that the government has successfully rescued Ghana from the challenges it faced during the previous John Mahama administration.

In an exclusive with JoyNews on Sunday, November 26, Dr Hamid acknowledged that while challenges persist, Ghanaians are now in a better position due to the government's forward-looking policies since taking office in 2017.

Dr. Hamid expressed confidence in the New Patriotic Party's () performance, asserting that the party will receive recognition in the 2024 elections.

He stated, “Yes, we have rescued the country. The economy is challenged without a doubt, but I am saying that we have taken this country beyond where we found it.”

He assured the public that there is time for debate, promising to justify the government's efforts in the election year.

Dr. Hamid highlighted the impact of policies, noting, “We have saved over 400,000 young people who, but for our policies, would be languishing on the streets of our country but are now pursuing proper careers for their lives.”

Regarding potential candidates for the role of running mate to Vice President Dr , Dr Hamid endorsed Minister of Energy, Dr .

He pointed out Dr. Opoku Prempeh's long-standing association with the party, and deep understanding of its ideologies, and principles, making him well-suited for the position.

Dr. Hamid emphasized Dr. Opoku Prempeh's political competence and significant value to the party, stating, “The candidate won't ask for my , but if he were to ask my that all the names that have been thrown around, who can give us political value and political capital, I would say . First of all, he is a political colossus in our tradition.”

He highlighted Dr. Opoku Prempeh's achievements during his tenure as Minister of Education, citing his role in tabling and passing significant reforming laws.

Dr. Hamid believes Dr. Opoku Prempeh's experience and accomplishments make him a compelling choice for the position of running mate.
