Mahama Jets to South Korea on Five-Day Working Visit

The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has departed the country for a five-day working visit to South Korea aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation.

The visit is expected to deepen diplomatic ties between Ghana and South Korea, particularly in key sectors such as trade, technology, infrastructure development, and education.

Government officials say the trip forms part of ongoing efforts to attract investment and promote strategic partnerships that will support Ghana’s economic growth.

During the visit, President Mahama is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, as well as other senior government officials and leaders of major Korean companies.

The talks are expected to focus on expanding trade relations, increasing Korean investments in Ghana, and enhancing cooperation in industrial development.

The Ghanaian leader will also engage with the Ghanaian community in South Korea and participate in business forums designed to connect Ghanaian and Korean investors.

These engagements are intended to highlight Ghana’s investment potential and encourage partnerships in areas such as manufacturing, renewable energy, and digital technology.

South Korea remains one of Asia’s leading industrial economies and has increasingly strengthened its economic and development cooperation with African countries, including Ghana.

President Mahama’s visit is therefore expected to open new avenues for collaboration and reinforce the long-standing diplomatic relationship between the two countries. He is expected to return to Ghana at the end of the five-day visit.
