It also noted reported retaliatory actions by Iran against Israeli and U.S. military assets in parts of the region, particularly in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Ministry, the situation has resulted in airspace closures, flight disruptions and heightened security alerts across several areas.

The Government of Ghana has called on all parties involved to exercise restraint, de-escalate tensions and return to diplomatic engagement in order to protect lives, safeguard economic stability and promote lasting regional peace.

The Ministry has advised Ghanaian nationals to avoid non-essential travel to and from the Middle East.

Ghanaians currently residing in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have been urged to remain indoors where possible, comply strictly with directives issued by local authorities and exercise heightened vigilance.

Nationals in affected areas have also been encouraged to avoid large gatherings and sensitive locations, closely monitor official communications, keep travel documents readily accessible and maintain regular contact with the nearest Ghanaian diplomatic mission.

An emergency preparedness plan has been activated, and assessments are ongoing regarding possible evacuations if necessary. The Government has already initiated the evacuation of a number of staff from the Embassy of Ghana in Tehran, while retaining essential personnel to coordinate assistance to Ghanaian nationals in Iran.

The Ministry and Ghana’s diplomatic missions in the region have assured citizens of continued consular support and urged those requiring emergency assistance to reach out through the designated contact lines provided.
