The Ghana Police Service has provided an update on the rescue of a stolen newborn baby at Mamprobi and the arrest of the suspect, identified as Latifa Salifu.
According to a statement issued by the Accra Regional Public Affairs Unit on February 20, 2026, the suspect was arraigned before court on Friday and subsequently remanded into Police custody.

She is expected to reappear before the court on March 4, 2026, to assist with ongoing investigations.
The Police indicated that investigations are still underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Meanwhile, the Accra Regional Police Command has deployed 24-hour security to the Mamprobi Polyclinic and its surrounding areas to ensure safety for staff, patients, and residents.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the public, particularly vulnerable groups, and assured citizens of sustained efforts to maintain law and order.
