Mr Yeboah described the SWAG Awards as the best platform to honour and appreciate the contributions of Ghana’s sportsmen and women, noting that the ceremony has, over the decades, served as a beacon for celebrating athletic excellence. He appealed to Goldbod’s management to support the Association in hosting a memorable and successful 50th anniversary edition.
In his response, Mr Gyamfi commended SWAG for its consistent role in promoting sports and upholding professional sports journalism in Ghana.
He assured the committee of Goldbod’s readiness to support initiatives that celebrate Ghanaian achievement, particularly in sports, which he described as a powerful unifying force for national cohesion and youth empowerment.
Other members of the SWAG delegation included Mr Charles Kwadwo Ntim and Mr Kwadwo Baah Agyeman, both members of the Planning Committee.
The SWAG Awards, the longest-running national awards scheme in Ghana, continues to serve as a platform to celebrate sporting excellence and to promote the values of hard work, discipline, and patriotism among Ghana’s athletes and sports administrators.
