Sulley Muntari Ruled Out of Hearts of Oak’s Clash Against Aduana Stars

Hearts of Oak midfielder Sulley Muntari has been ruled out of the club’s Ghana Premier League match against Aduana Stars due to injury.

The 37-year-old former AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder was left out of the squad for the match at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park after sustaining a knock during Hearts of Oak’s 2-1 victory over West African Football Academy (WAFA).

In a statement released by the club, Hearts of Oak explained that Muntari’s absence was based on medical advice and not his personal decision, contrary to earlier speculations.

“The decision to exempt Sulley Ali Muntari from the game against Aduana Stars is based on medical advice after he picked up a knock in our previous game and not his personal decision as being speculated,” the club stated.

Since joining the Phobians, Muntari has impressed with his performances, scoring one goal and providing an assist in five matches.

The midfielder’s recent form has reportedly attracted attention from the Black Stars technical team, with plans underway to consider his return to the national team.

Muntari last played for Ghana in 2014 and was part of the squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The Black Stars technical team believes his experience and leadership could be valuable, especially with captain Andre Ayew unavailable for upcoming matches.

Coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his squad for the upcoming fixtures next week.
