President John Mahama of Ghana was warmly received at the Blue House by President Lee Jae-Myung of the Republic of Korea, becoming the first African leader hosted by President Lee since his inauguration last year.
The two leaders held discussions covering key sectors including agribusiness, artificial intelligence, value addition for critical minerals, automotive manufacturing, infrastructure development such as railways, chocolate production with Ghanaian cocoa, capacity building, and trade.

As part of efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation, Ghana and South Korea signed strategic agreements focusing on maritime security, science, technology and innovation, and climate protection, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable development and regional security.
President Mahama also extended an invitation to President Lee to participate in Ghana’s 50th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations with South Korea in 2027, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration.
The visit reflects a significant step forward in Ghana–South Korea relations, strengthening ties in trade, technology, and sustainable development, and signaling both nations’ determination to expand their strategic partnership in the years ahead.
