Mr Desmond Darko, a National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart in Accra, has lauded Mr Richard Jakpa as a courageous and unyielding figure capable of inspiring members of the party to stand firm in the face of political challenges.
In remarks issued in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday, Mr Darko likened Mr Jakpa to a comic book hero, describing him as a man with the “guts of a true soldier.” He said Jakpa distinguished himself by refusing to yield under pressure, even when opponents attempted to undermine or silence him.
“While others dabble in polite complaints and half-hearted protests, Jakpa stands firm, eyes blazing, calling out his opponents like a seasoned general spotting enemy manoeuvres,” he said. “Where the NDC sees complexity, he sees opportunity; where the opponent hopes for meek compliance, he delivers defiance.”
Mr Darko alleged that attempts to confine Jakpa through legal means had backfired, portraying him instead as a resilient figure. “Every evil plan they hatched, every attempt to corner or intimidate him, rebounded spectacularly,” he stated.
He added that Jakpa was regarded within the NDC as an invaluable asset. “He is the jewel that gleams brightest when the stakes are highest. In a world where politicians are often paper tigers, Jakpa is a lion,” Mr Darko said, emphasising his intellect, audacity, and determination in defending the party’s interests.
