The meeting brought together Ghanaian traditional authorities, members of the Ghana Union, and various associations across provinces. The engagement focused on strengthening identity, unity, and national purpose among Ghanaians living in Spain.

The Vice President conveyed warm greetings from John Dramani Mahama and commended the Ghanaian community for maintaining a positive reputation in Spain. She also discussed Spain’s proposed regularisation initiative for undocumented migrants and assured the community that the necessary information and guidance will be provided.

She briefed the gathering on key developments in Ghana, including efforts to stabilise the economy, reduce inflation, and strengthen fiscal discipline. She noted that government is focused on transforming the economy from reliance on raw exports to a value-added, production-driven model, supported by major infrastructure investments under the Big Push agenda.

The Vice President highlighted ongoing agricultural initiatives aimed at reducing imports and increasing local production. She also outlined key social interventions such as the No-Fees Stress Policy for first-year tertiary students, free sanitary pads for schoolgirls, and primary healthcare programmes designed to improve quality of life.

She further mentioned additional initiatives, including the Goldbod programme, the phased implementation of the 24-hour economy, and the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank as part of government’s commitment to inclusive growth.

The Vice President expressed appreciation for the warm reception and encouraged Ghanaians in Spain to remain united, engaged, and connected to national development. She reaffirmed government’s commitment to supporting the welfare of the diaspora and strengthening ties with Ghanaians abroad.
