Armah-Kofi Buah leads Ghana delegation to African Mining Indaba 2026 in South Africa

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Acting Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), has arrived in South Africa to participate in the 2026 edition of the African Mining Indaba Conference, Africa’s largest mining investment and policy forum.

The Minister touched down on Sunday, 8 February 2026, to represent Ghana at the high-level conference, which brings together African governments, global mining companies, investors, regulators, and development partners to shape policies, attract investment, and promote responsible and sustainable mineral development across the continent.

As head of Ghana’s delegation, Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah is expected to engage in a series of strategic meetings and high-level dialogues focused on the future of mining in Africa. These discussions will address key challenges confronting the sector, including sustainability, environmental stewardship, value addition, and investment frameworks.

A major highlight of Ghana’s participation will be the highly anticipated “Ghana Day” event, scheduled for Wednesday, 11 February 2026, which will be headlined by the sector minister.

As Africa’s leading gold producer, Ghana will use the platform to showcase its vast mineral potential, investment-friendly policies, and opportunities across the extractive value chain, with the aim of deepening investor confidence and attracting new capital into the sector.

Ghana’s presence at the African Mining Indaba 2026 aligns with the vision of President John Dramani Mahama to strengthen the mining sector through expanded global partnerships and targeted strategic investments.

The government has reiterated its commitment to leveraging international platforms such as the Indaba to position Ghana as a preferred destination for responsible mining and sustainable resource development.

The African Mining Indaba remains a key forum for shaping Africa’s mining agenda, and Ghana’s active participation underscores its role as a leading player in the continent’s extractive industry.
