Mr. Donatus Atanga Akamugri, the Upper East Regional Minister, has warned candidates sitting for the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the region to avoid all forms of examination malpractice. He stressed that malpractice could ruin their educational prospects, tarnish reputations, and undermine the credibility of the entire process.
Speaking during a tour of selected senior high schools, including Bolgatanga SHS and Zuarungu SHS, the Minister encouraged candidates to trust their preparation, remain disciplined, and approach their papers with confidence. “Do not panic, and if you don’t panic, you will get all the As that you want. Just relax and consider yourself as the best student in the world, and once your head is cool, everything will fall in place,” he advised.

Mr. Akamugri reminded students that malpractice was not only a breach of school rules but also a violation of national laws with serious consequences. “Do not giraffe; be confident in yourselves, and we pray that God will be with us, and at the end of the day, you will all score As,” he added. He further cautioned candidates to stay away from violence during the examination period, urging them to remain focused and responsible.
The Minister was accompanied by Mrs. Alice Ellen Abeere-Inga, Regional Education Director, and Alhaji Muhammadu Issaku, Acting Chief Director of the Regional Coordinating Council. Mrs. Abeere-Inga expressed concern about rising cases of results cancellation due to malpractice and encouraged students to rely on their own efforts to secure genuine success.
