MagMina Foundation donates

MagMina Foundation, an Accra-based NGO, has donated four projectors to the Sacred Heart Senior High School (SAHESS) at Nsoatre in the Bono Region to boost ICT teaching and learning. The donation followed an appeal made during the school’s 47th Anniversary and Speech Day for support to strengthen its STEM education capacity.

Presenting the items, Ms Rosemary Mroba Gaisie, a Director of MagMina Foundation and an alumna of SAHESS, said the gesture was not just the fulfilment of a promise but a contribution to enhancing ICT training and skill acquisition in a technology-driven world. She explained that the support aligns with the Foundation’s mission to assist underserved schools, hospitals, and clinics in deprived communities across Ghana.

Reverend Sister Benedicta Uzokwe, Headmistress of SAHESS, expressed gratitude, noting that since the school introduced elective ICT in 2018, students had excelled in the subject, with a 100 percent pass in the 2021 WASSCE. She highlighted the growing demand for ICT resources as enrolment continues to rise, stressing the importance of projectors in classrooms to improve learning outcomes and prepare students for the 21st-century job market.

Monsignor Joseph Marfo-Gyimah of the Justice and Peace Commission, Catholic Diocese of Sunyani, praised Ms Gaisie and the Foundation for their support and encouraged other old students to emulate the gesture. The school assured that the equipment would be well maintained and used effectively to strengthen ICT education.
