President John Dramani Mahama has launched Ghana’s first e-visa service, scheduled to go live on May 25, 2026, Africa Day.
The initiative is a joint programme involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport.

The launch event is set for 9:00 a.m. at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
According to the announcement, the system is designed to allow applicants to apply online for a Ghana e-visa as part of efforts to promote tourism and improve ease of travel into the country.
It was also stated that Africans will not pay for visas to visit Ghana.
