The Tano North Municipal Assembly in the Ahafo Region has announced the introduction of the ‘TANOFEST26‘ programme aimed at showcasing the municipality’s cultural and tourism assets to drive economic growth. The initiative, set to commence in 2026, will be integrated into the Easter festivities, highlighting unique cultural practices, traditions, and tourist destinations across the municipality.
Mr Pius Sampson Opoku, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), disclosed while addressing the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Sixth Assembly in Duayaw-Nkwanta, the municipal capital. He said the festival also seeks to foster peace and unity among residents, free from partisan divisions.

“We also anticipate involving natives of Duayaw-Nkwanta living abroad so they can contribute to our development agenda,” Mr Opoku stated, adding that despite existing challenges, the Assembly remains committed to advancing the municipality’s progressive development. He urged residents to set aside differences, work in unity, and support the government’s reset Ghana agenda.
Mr Francis Datsumor Mensah, Programmes Officer of the Tano North Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), reaffirmed the NCCE’s commitment to strengthening civic education in the municipality as part of broader community engagement efforts.
