President commends police leadership for crime crackdown and reforms

The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has commended the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) for their efforts in tackling armed robbery and organised crime, and for their commitment to transforming the Ghana Police Service.

He made the remarks at the commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters, stating that the IGP and POMAB have been effective in the fight against crime. He said the Police Service has intensified operations against criminal networks and enhanced public safety nationwide.

He added that ongoing reforms and operational strategies by the Police Administration are strengthening law enforcement and improving security outcomes nationwide.

The IGP expressed appreciation to the President for his support towards strengthening Ghana’s security framework. He said government investment in retooling the Service, including the provision of armoured vehicles, has supported operations and helped foil several robbery incidents.

He confirmed the Police Administration’s commitment to sustaining efforts in crime-fighting and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.
