Takoradi, Ghana – President John Dramani Mahama is set to embark on a one-day working visit to the Western Region on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, as part of his government’s ongoing infrastructure development agenda under the BIG PUSH Programme.
According to a press release issued by the Western Regional Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and signed by Mr Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, Regional Communications Officer, the President will officially cut the sod for the dualization of the Sekondi-Takoradi to Cape Coast highway, a major transport corridor expected to boost trade, tourism, and regional connectivity.

The statement, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Takoradi, noted that the President’s itinerary also includes an inspection of expansion works at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and visits to other ongoing health projects across the region.
The visit underscores the Mahama administration’s renewed focus on infrastructure, healthcare, and economic revitalisation in the Western Region, key pillars of the BIG PUSH initiative aimed at stimulating growth and creating sustainable jobs.
