As part of monitoring the implementation of the Free Primary Healthcare (FPHC) initiative in the Upper East Region, Health Minister Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh paid a courtesy call on the Navro Pio, Pe Denis Aneakwoa Balinia Adda Asagpaare II, at his palace.
The visit was to brief the traditional leadership on the FPHC initiative and other ongoing health interventions in the region.

During the visit, Hon. Akandoh outlined the objectives of the FPHC initiative and highlighted other government health interventions aimed at improving access to quality healthcare for residents in the region.
His Royal Majesty urged Ghanaians, particularly residents within his traditional jurisdiction, to take full advantage of the FPHC initiative and actively participate in the programme to improve their health and wellbeing.
He also commended the Minister for his efforts to strengthen the health sector.
The Navro Pio further called for urgent upgrades to the Navrongo War Memorial Hospital, noting that the facility requires significant improvements to enable it to adequately meet the healthcare needs of the growing population.
