The Sunyani West Municipal Director of Health Services, Daniel Konka, has urged people who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to take the booster shot to strengthen their protection, especially during the festive season.
He explained that while vaccinated individuals could still contract the virus, the booster dose helps reduce severe illness, hospitalization and death.

Mr. Konka made the appeal during a ceremony where Transformation 108 Foundation donated medical equipment to the Dumasua Health Centre in the Sunyani West Municipality.
The donation included delivery beds, vaccine storage equipment, weighing scales, blood pressure monitors, computers and wound dressing kits. The foundation also renovated the facility’s outpatient department and maternity ward and provided washrooms and potable water.
Mr. Konka encouraged those who have not yet been vaccinated to do so, urging the public to disregard misinformation about the vaccine and help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
