37 Military Hospital

The government has installed new equipment at the 37 Military Hospital, restoring stable and sufficient oxygen production following the breakdown of the hospital’s oxygen plant.

The failure of the plant had posed a serious risk to essential medical oxygen supplies for surgical theatres, Intensive Care Units, various wards, and the National Ambulance Service.

During a recent visit to the hospital, the Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, was briefed on the situation. In response, President John Mahama directed the Ministry of Defence to work with the National Security Coordinator to resolve the issue.

Dr. Boamah has since confirmed that urgent interventions have restored the oxygen plant to full operation, ensuring uninterrupted medical oxygen supply at the facility.

“I’m pleased to announce that the issue has been resolved thanks to our proactive measures. There will be no bad news,” he stated in a Facebook post.

He emphasized that this intervention is part of President Mahama’s broader efforts to improve healthcare services nationwide, aligning with his commitment to resetting Ghana.

“We remain committed to addressing challenges head-on, including those stemming from the mismanaged economy,” Dr. Boamah added.
