The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations has directed the National Communications Authority (NCA) to take immediate enforcement action against six broadcasting entities operating without valid frequency authorizations.

The affected stations, which have either failed to renew their licenses, meet statutory payment obligations, or submit required documentation, include Fire Group of Companies in Sunyani (90.1MHz), I-Zar Consult Limited in Tamale (89.7MHz), Abochannel Media Group in Adidome (105.7MHz), Okyeame Radio Limited in Bibiani (99.7MHz), Mumen Bono Foundation in Techiman (99.7MHz), and Osikani Community FM in Nkrankwanta (99.7MHz).

According to Section 2(4) of the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775), it is unlawful to operate a broadcasting service without a valid frequency authorization. The NCA has been tasked with shutting down all unauthorized transmissions from these stations to ensure compliance with the law.

The Ministry emphasized that the government is reviewing its ongoing frequency authorization audit and will issue further directives in due course. It urged all frequency authorization holders to adhere strictly to regulatory requirements to avoid similar enforcement actions.
