“Working hand-in-hand with key stakeholders, our technical teams have identified the root causes of the challenges. In response, a major upgrade of the ICUMS infrastructure is currently underway. This upgrade is specifically designed to expand the system’s capacity and resilience to handle the exponential surge in data traffic that comes with Ghana’s growing trade volumes,” the company said.
Ghana Link added that it was collaborating with Internet Service Providers to strengthen the internet backbone supporting ICUMS, ensuring more reliable and stable connectivity.
The company expects the comprehensive improvements, which are being executed around the clock, to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2025. Once finalised, the upgrades are expected to significantly enhance performance and eliminate recurring issues faced by importers, exporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other trade stakeholders.
Appealing for patience, Ghana Link said: “We humbly appeal to our cherished stakeholders, importers, exporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and all partners in Ghana’s trade ecosystem to continue to bear with us during this crucial period.”
The company reaffirmed its commitment to providing a world-class trade facilitation platform that delivers reliability, efficiency, and transparency, while strengthening government revenue and supporting economic growth.
It also expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their patience and continued support as the upgrade progresses.
