A statement from the AIS communication unit, copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the Summit is co-hosted by the National Communications Authority (NCA) and Ghana Dot Com Limited, under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation. It is organised by the African Network Operators Group (AfNOG) with support from Af Star (Af*) and other partners.
AIS’25 will gather Internet experts, technocrats, business leaders, policymakers, regulators, and innovators from across Africa for a week of technical coordination, policy dialogue, tutorials, workshops, and exhibitions expected to benefit Ghanaian businesses, youth, and the technology ecosystem.
Mr. Sam George, Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, described hosting AIS’25 as both a recognition of Ghana’s leadership and a proud moment in the nation’s digital journey.
“Hosting AIS’25 in Accra as we mark 30 years of the Internet in Ghana is a proud moment for our nation. It reflects Ghana’s pioneering role in Africa’s digital journey and our commitment to building a resilient, data-driven, and inclusive Internet ecosystem,” he said.
Professor Nii Quaynor, Convenor of AfNOG, noted that Ghana’s early adoption of the Internet helped pave the way for Africa’s digital growth. He encouraged young people, entrepreneurs, and innovators to participate in shaping the next 30 years of Africa’s Internet.
The Africa Internet Summit is considered the continent’s leading ICT platform where stakeholders discuss critical issues relating to Internet growth, usage, and impact.
