The Ghana Armed Forces has described as fake a media publication alleging that about 60 per cent of applicants who underwent military medical screening tested positive for HIV.
In a press release issued by the Department of Public Relations at General Headquarters, Burma Camp, on Sunday, 25 January 2026, the Ghana Armed Forces said the claim circulating in the media is false and should be ignored by the public.

The Ghana Armed Forces stated categorically that the medical screening process is still ongoing and that no results have been declared at this time.
“The publication is FAKE NEWS and should be ignored by all,” the statement said.
The Ghana Armed Forces further informed the public that efforts are underway to trace the originators of what it described as a mischievous story.
The Ghana Armed Forces also urged media practitioners, particularly content creators and bloggers or vloggers, to be circumspect and to crosscheck their facts before publishing.
