The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has intensified efforts to protect the integrity of domestic football by deploying monitoring teams to selected MTN FA Cup and league matches amid concerns over possible match manipulation.
The Association said its Compliance and Integrity Unit, working in collaboration with FIFA Integrity through the SportRadar Fraud Detection System (FDS), would monitor a number of fixtures beginning with the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 match between Unity FC and Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

According to the GFA, the decision follows intelligence gathered by its Compliance and Integrity Unit suggesting the need for closer scrutiny of selected matches.
While expressing confidence in the sporting integrity of participating clubs, the Association warned that any evidence of match-fixing would trigger its disciplinary and ethics procedures.
The GFA said the monitoring mechanism would also cover other selected MTN FA Cup Round of 64 fixtures as well as league matches scheduled for the weekend.
Club officials, coaches and players have been reminded of their responsibility to uphold the integrity of the game and urged to resist approaches from illegal betting syndicates or individuals seeking to influence match outcomes.
The Association also encouraged football stakeholders to report any suspected attempts to manipulate matches to the Compliance and Integrity Unit through its dedicated hotline.
The GFA reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the integrity of football in Ghana and assured supporters and stakeholders that it would continue to work with FIFA and other partners to combat match-fixing and protect the credibility of domestic competitions.
