EC to reopen nominations in areas without candidates

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced plans to reopen nominations in electoral areas and units where no candidates filed during the recent district-level election process.

In a statement signed by Mr Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chair in charge of Operations, the Commission said the decision is in accordance with the District Level Elections Regulations, 2015 (C.I. 89).

“The Commission will reopen nominations for Electoral Areas and Units where no nomination was filed,” the statement read, adding that a new timetable will be released soon.

The EC further urged interested candidates and the public to take note and await the publication of the revised schedule.
