The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of the Queenmother of Abamba near Amantin in the Atebubu area of the Bono East Region.
According to the Bono East Regional Police Command, the suspects-Rafiu Haruna, Muftawu Adamu, and Michael Owusu Spermi-were arrested through an intelligence-led police operation.

Police reports indicate that the victim, Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan, who served as the Queenmother of Abamba near Amantin, was shot at her residence in the Methodist Church area in Atebubu on February 25, 2026.
The tragic incident shocked residents in the area and triggered an investigation by the regional police command to track down those responsible.
The three suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations as authorities work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the killing. Police say efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest any other individuals who may have been involved in the crime.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that all persons linked to the murder will be brought to justice once investigations are completed.
