During the attack, Yaa Tugbenyo managed to escape from the scene.

However, upon her return, she discovered her mother lying motionless in the house. The matter was subsequently reported to the police, who swiftly moved to the scene to begin investigations.

Police officers found the deceased lying on her back with visible signs of violence. The scene was processed, and relevant evidence, including photographs, was collected to support ongoing investigations.

A medical officer at St. Mary Theresa Hospital later confirmed the victim dead, and the body has since been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court in due course.

The arrest marks a significant step in the police’s efforts to ensure justice and maintain law and order within the community. Authorities have assured the public of their continued commitment to addressing violent crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice.
