Accra, The Movement for Change is set to unveil its official political party on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Coconut Grove Hotel, bringing together political leaders from across Ghana.
Speaking on the vision of the party, which remains formally unnamed ahead of the launch, Solomon Owusu, a member of the Movement for Change Communications team, described it as a broad-based centrist national party focused on fostering a united Ghana and harnessing the potential of every citizen for economic transformation.

The Movement for Change has actively promoted the launch on its social media platforms, inviting Ghanaians to anticipate a “New Party that believes in Ghana first.”
The organisation is led by Alan Kyerematen, former Minister of Trade and Industry, who established the Movement for Change after resigning from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in September 2023 to contest the 2024 general election as an independent candidate.
During the 2024 polls, the Movement for Change, alongside other parties, sought to challenge Ghana’s traditional two-party dominance by the NDC and NPP, advocating for a more pluralistic political system.
The party’s symbol, the monarch butterfly (Afrafranto in Akan), represents political change, hope, and transformation, while its motto, “Ghana Will Rise Again,” conveys a message of optimism for the nation’s future.
Central to the party’s agenda is the Great Transformational Plan (GTP), designed to reshape Ghana’s political and economic landscape and implement policies that drive sustainable development, national unity, and citizen empowerment.
