The exercise, organised in collaboration with the Church of Pentecost (Teshie Zone), brought together notable dignitaries, including Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Governance, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs; Ms Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, Deputy Minister for the same ministry; Mr Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, MP for Ledzokuku; Pastor Martin Owusu of the Church of Pentecost, Teshie Zone; Alhaji Ibrahim Amartei, Municipal Chief Imam; and Nungua Mantse, Nene Oboade Notse King Prof. Odaifio Welentsi III.
Also in attendance were assembly members, municipal staff, youth groups, traditional leaders, market women, and local organisations. Participants desilted drains, cleared choked gutters, swept major streets, and removed refuse heaps from public areas and neighbourhoods.
Mr Otchwenmah expressed profound appreciation to the people of Ledzokuku for their active involvement, noting that the enthusiasm shown was a testament to their commitment to supporting government efforts in promoting environmental cleanliness and sustainable urban development.
He assured residents that the Assembly would sustain sanitation efforts beyond the monthly clean-up exercise. Plans, he noted, are underway to beautify public spaces and maintain a clean and investor-friendly environment.
The MCE encouraged community members to take personal responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean, emphasising that maintaining a healthy environment requires collective effort. He further indicated that the Assembly would continue enforcing sanitation bylaws to ensure compliance.
Mr Otchwenmah also expressed gratitude to the Church of Pentecost–Teshie Zone, Ghana National Fire Service, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, NADMO, Frimps Oil, former MCE Mr Daniel Amartey Mensah, assembly members, staff, and all residents who actively participated and supported the exercise.
