The Command assured the public that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses, emphasizing its commitment to transparency and accountability.

Police also dismissed circulating media reports linking the incident to the Special Operations Team, popularly known as the “Black Maria.” According to the statement, the unit had already been withdrawn from the Northern Region by the Inspector-General of Police on March 5, 2026, and was therefore not involved.

The development has sparked public interest, with calls for a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.
