The report said officers became suspicious during the routine check and informed the Divisional Commander, who arrived at the scene together with the Juaso District Commander and the Juaso District Crime Officer.
Upon their arrival, an extensive search of the vehicle was conducted, leading to the opening of a sack containing the ammunition.
When questioned, the driver told police that the sack and its contents were brought to the station by an unknown person as a parcel, to be delivered to one Oboye in Tamale.
