The Human Rights Court (2) has reduced the bail sum for Dr Edwin Provencal, the former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited, from GH¢60 million to GH¢30 million.
The decision followed an application by his lawyer, Mr Charles Okyere, seeking a variation of the initial conditions after Dr Provencal had spent eight days in the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

EOCO had earlier granted the GH¢60 million bail after his arrest at the Kotoka International Airport, where he was intercepted while attempting to board a flight to Maputo, Mozambique, allegedly without the required authorisation.
He is currently facing charges of causing financial loss to the state and money laundering, accusations he has firmly denied.
In its ruling on Tuesday, the Court reduced the bail to GH¢30 million with two sureties and directed that Dr Provencal deposit his passport with the court registry.
Dr Provencal was arrested on November 10, 2025, and his appearance in court drew significant attention.
After the ruling, dozens of party sympathisers broke into spontaneous jubilation outside the courtroom, chanting encouragements such as “God is on your side, He will see you through” and “We are with you.”
