Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Emelia Mensah told the court that on October 6, 2025, at about 12:00 p.m., Ogbonna was seen at Kwame Nkrumah Circle with the victim, whose identity was withheld. The accused allegedly transported the victim from Nigeria to Ghana with the intention of forcing her into prostitution.
Upon arrival in Ghana, Ogbonna reportedly took the victim to the Driver’s Lodge Hotel at Kwame Nkrumah Circle and locked her in a room without explanation. An informant, who is also a witness in the case, received information about the incident and, with assistance from others, rescued the victim.
The victim was later taken to the police station for further investigation. During her caution statement, Ogbonna admitted to bringing the victim to Ghana but denied any intent to traffic her.
