Under the new law, the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority has been given an expanded mandate to promote, facilitate and monitor investments more effectively, while strengthening the country’s institutional framework for investment promotion.
The Act also provides enhanced legal protection for investors by reinforcing the regulatory framework to improve certainty and confidence for businesses operating in Ghana.
In addition, the Authority has been tasked with supporting the growth of Ghanaian enterprises, enabling local businesses to expand and participate more actively in the country’s investment ecosystem.
The government says the new legislation forms part of broader efforts to accelerate economic growth, attract increased domestic and foreign investment, create employment opportunities and position Ghana as a leading investment hub in West Africa.
