Guinness Ghana Leadership Meets Mahama, Reaffirms Commitment Under Castel Group

A delegation from Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, led by Board Chairman Dr. Felix Addo, has paid a courtesy call on President John Dramani Mahama at the Jubilee House in Accra.

The visit formally introduced the company’s new Managing Director, Mr. Frédéric Feraille, following Guinness Ghana’s transition to majority ownership under the Castel Group, which now operates in 22 African markets.

Mr. Feraille reaffirmed the company’s 65-year legacy in Ghana, pledging new investments and capacity development over the next three years. He said Guinness Ghana would continue to source raw materials sustainably, with over 63 percent currently procured locally, benefitting more than 30,000 farmers. He also commended government support through tax incentives that encourage local sourcing.

The delegation further raised concerns about illicit trade and parallel imports undermining value creation in the beverage sector. President Mahama acknowledged the industry-wide challenge and assured stronger enforcement through joint efforts with the Ghana Revenue Authority, including seizures, intelligence-sharing, and visible crackdowns.

Guinness Ghana, now under Castel Group’s ownership, reiterated its commitment to safeguard jobs, expand local talent, and contribute to Ghana’s economic transformation while maintaining its identity as a trusted Total Beverage Business.
