Ghana FDA urges media to stop promoting unregistered products: Ghana News

The Western Regional Directorate of the Ghana (FDA) has called on media houses and community information centers to refrain from promoting unregistered products through their platforms.

Dr. Martin Kusi, the Western Regional Director of the FDA, advised these entities to rigorously request registration documents and other certifications before broadcasting or endorsing any product, particularly drugs, on their platforms.

Dr. Kusi's remarks come in response to the recent increase in advertisements for drugs and other unregistered products in the market.

He emphasized that the battle for consumer safety should be regarded as a shared responsibility among manufacturers, advertising firms, and the public in the field of public health management.

Consumer well-being remains a top priority for the FDA, and Dr. Kusi stressed that this objective cannot be attained in isolation.

He called on all conscientious Ghanaians to support the FDA in its efforts to enhance consumer safety.
