The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has unveiled 40 new pickup vehicles to strengthen its operations and improve the delivery of services under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) across the country.
The vehicles were unveiled by the Chief Executive of the NHIA, Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, at a ceremony held at the Authority’s Head Office in Accra on Wednesday.

Dr Bampoe expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for providing the resources to support the Authority’s operations.
He said the additional vehicles would help staff carry out their responsibilities more effectively as the NHIA works towards increasing active membership to 80 percent and advancing Ghana’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. Let us work hard together to achieve the 80 percent membership target and move closer to Universal Health Coverage,” he said.
Dr Bampoe urged staff entrusted with the vehicles to use them responsibly and strictly for their intended purposes.
The Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Administration and Human Resources, Mr Ralph Segkpeb, said the 40 vehicles were procured this year and would be distributed to various parts of the country based on operational needs.
He noted that the vehicles would enhance the Authority’s ability to undertake its activities and improve operational efficiency nationwide.
