All districts in Upper East captured for free primary healthcare rollout – Health Minister

Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh

Health Minister, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has engaged opinion leaders and communicators in the Upper East Region on the implementation of the Free Primary Health Care (FPHC) policy.

During the engagement, the Minister announced that all districts in the region have been captured under the first phase of the programme.

He said the initiative is aimed at ensuring equitable access to essential healthcare services at the primary care level, regardless of residents’ location or economic status.

Hon. Akandoh also assured stakeholders that government would ensure the equitable distribution of healthcare professionals across the region to prevent communities from being underserved due to staff shortages.

He urged opinion leaders and communicators to support public education and awareness efforts to ensure residents understand and take full advantage of the FPHC policy.
