The Western Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with a shooting incident that led to the death of a man at a mining site at Gwira Ampansie in the Nzema East District of the Western Region.
The statement was signed by Superintendent Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Western Regional Police Command.

The deceased, identified as 45-year-old Angu Mensah, Abusuapanyi of Gwira Ampansie, was reportedly shot during a misunderstanding at the site.
The suspects, made up of three Ghanaians and three Chinese nationals, are Hamza Abubakar, Hamidu Seidu, Francis Biewose, Bai Yaozheng, Liu Gang and Wen Xien Wen.
According to the Police, officers at Axim received a distress call about the shooting incident on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at about 1:20 p.m.
A Police team, together with the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate, proceeded to the scene, where investigations revealed that a misunderstanding broke out at about 11:45 a.m. between the deceased and some individuals at the mining site.
Police said a suspect identified as Alfred Sadick, also known as “Strong Man,” allegedly shot the deceased in the chest during the incident.
The six suspects are currently in Police custody assisting investigations, while efforts are underway to arrest Alfred Sadick.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Axim Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The Police have appealed to the public to provide credible information on the whereabouts of the suspect to assist in his arrest.
