Ghana and Qatar have exchanged Instruments of Ratification for a Labour Mobility Agreement aimed at expanding employment opportunities and protecting workers.
The agreement was signed on April 17, 2026, by the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khadija Iddrisu, and Qatar’s Ambassador to Ghana, Khalid Bin Jabor Saif Jasser Al-Mesallam.

Ambassador Iddrisu said the deal will streamline migration processes, strengthen labour mobility governance, and support skills development while ensuring the welfare of Ghanaian workers.
The Qatari Ambassador described the agreement as mutually beneficial, noting it will create jobs and guarantee worker protection in key sectors.
Both sides stressed the need for continued engagement to ensure effective implementation.
