Police arrest suspect over viral uniform video

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a viral video showing her wearing a police uniform.

According to police, the arrest was carried out by the IGP‘s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team. The suspect, identified as Esther Obasi, was seen in the video dressed in official police camouflage and a standard black police uniform, which circulated widely on social media.

Preliminary investigations established a link between the suspect and a police officer, who was invited to assist with investigations and later produced her. The officer stated that he had given the uniform to the suspect to wash.

The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
