Kadjebi, Oti Region – In celebration of International Literacy Day, World Vision Ghana has presented a collection of books to the Kadjebi District Education Directorate in the Oti Region.
This initiative is part of World Vision's ongoing efforts to improve literacy and reading habits among students in the district.
Mr. Irvine Aboagye, the Programme Manager of the Krachi-Nkwanta Cluster at World Vision Ghana, handed over the books, emphasizing their role in enhancing the reading skills of pupils and expanding their knowledge base.
These contributions align with World Vision's broader mission to ensure that every child has access to quality education and the opportunity to develop their vocabulary and perspective about the world.
Mr. Anthony Agortimevor, the District Budget Officer of the Ghana Education Service, expressed his appreciation for World Vision Ghana's gesture. He noted that the donation was especially timely as the district faced challenges related to the poor reading abilities of schoolchildren.
Mr. Agortimevor commended World Vision for its ongoing partnership in improving education in the district and hoped that this collaboration would continue to flourish.
Furthermore, Mr. Agortimevor highlighted the positive impact of the “After School Reading Clubs” operating in areas supported by World Vision.
These clubs have contributed to significant improvements in schools, making a notable difference compared to other schools in the district.
