We’re not in a perfect place, but we have made significant progress – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

The Minister of Information, , has clarified that the government did not pledge to create a perfect for its citizens. The Ofoase-Ayirebi MP emphasized that the government made promises to change the fortunes of Ghanaians but did not commit to perfection, stating that perfection was not cited in the New Patriotic Party’s () manifesto.

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Citi TV, Mr Oppong Nkrumah acknowledged that despite the challenges, the ruling government has made significant progress in stabilizing the economy compared to the Mahama administration.

“We are not in a perfect place, but we have made significant progress from where we started in January 2017. We have also made significant progress on the promises and commitments that we made. And we have made significant progress as compared to our peers [],” stated the Minister of Information.

He highlighted the drop in inflation from over 50% to about 20%, acknowledging that although the prices of goods and services are still rising, the government is making progress. Oppong Nkrumah assured that unfulfilled promises made by the government will be built upon.

“There were some specific promises that were made, a good number of them have been achieved, but some of them have not been achieved. Life is continual, and we will build on those,” Oppong Nkrumah assured, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ongoing improvement and development.
