In a Christmas message to the nation, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced that Ghana is emerging from three challenging years of economic turbulence and is now on a positive trajectory toward recovery and growth.
Expressing his satisfaction with the country’s progress, the President highlighted key indicators of economic improvement, signalling a turning point for Ghana. He noted controlled inflation, a stable exchange rate, and a resurgence in economic growth as positive signs.
“I am particularly happy that our nation has turned the corner, following three difficult years we and indeed the world have faced. Inflation is being reined in, we are experiencing a relatively stable exchange rate and growth in our economy is rebounding,” President Akufo-Addo stated.
The President emphasized Ghana’s attractiveness to both domestic and foreign investors, solidifying its position as the gateway to Africa. He cited ongoing investments as a testament to the confidence that the international community has in Ghana’s economic potential.
“We continue to attract investment – domestic and foreign – reinforcing our position as the gateway to Africa, and we remain a beacon of democracy, peace and stability in Africa,” the President asserted.
While acknowledging that challenges persist, President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome obstacles and move toward a brighter future. He urged citizens to maintain their commitment and determination, reinforcing the collective belief that hard work will pave the way for Ghana’s prosperity.
“The country is not yet completely out of the woods but there is a growing sense of confidence that with hard work and determination, Ghana will make it and collectively we will secure our future,” President Akufo-Addo concluded.
